Tokyo Flowers Tour Description

Hitachi Seaside Park is located in Mito, a town that is a little over one hour by train away from Tokyo. As its name suggests, it is right next to the Pacific Ocean and it offers blooming flowers year-round. The most popular time to go is when the bright-blue Nemophilia is blooming, turning the park into a blue sea of flowers from mid-April until early May.

Ashikaga Flower Park in Tochigi prefecture is also blooming year-round, with the Wisteria season being the most popular time to go. From mid-April until mid-May, this park turns into a purple-pink paradise with abundantly blooming Wisteria, Azalea, and Peonies. If you are in Japan between late October-late January the impressive light-up event in Ashikaga Flower Park is also very much worth visiting.

Tokyo Flowers Tour Information

Tour date: Set your own date, this tour is self-guided (you can also request a guide if you would prefer that). Please note that Hitachi Seaside Park is closed on some Tuesdays, or Wednesdays if the Tuesday before is a national holiday. The Ashikaga Flower Park is open every day except for the third Wednesday and Thursday in February and December 31st. We will help you choose your optimal dates when you book.

Tokyo Flowers Tour Highlights

Flower Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Morning: Get on the train at Ueno station and travel to Katsuta station, and then take a local bus to arrive at Hitachi Seaside Park around 2 hours later.

Afternoon: you will have the whole afternoon to enjoy the park, it closes between 4.30 pm and 6 pm. If you want to make a combination with the Kairakuen in Mito, you should leave Hitachi Seaside Park by 3 pm. The Kairakuen is a Japanese garden that is especially worth a visit during the plum blossom season from mid-February through March.

Evening: your hotel is located near Mito station, with plenty of local restaurants within walking distance.
Hotel: 3-star hotel with Breakfast near Mito Station.

Day 2

Morning: you will have breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast, you will take the train to Ashikaga Flower Park, which will take around 2.5 hours.

Afternoon: you will have the whole afternoon to enjoy the park, it closes between 5 pm and 6 pm. Take the train back to Tokyo at the end of the day, which will take around 1.5 hours.
