What is our Tokyo autumn leaves walking tour about? In Japan, the activity of looking for the most beautiful fall foliage is called Momiji, which literally means ‘red leaves’. This quintessential Japanese activity is named after the red maple leaves that are so abundant in this comfortable season. What makes this activity so Japanese? Autumn leaves happen in many places in the world and are admired fondly in those countries as well, but in Japan, they take the ‘leave viewing’ to a higher level.
Tokyo Autumn Tour Description
There are many organized activities surrounding Momiji season, wonderful illuminations, and city planners keep this season in mind when they design certain areas making whole neighborhoods erupt in yellows, oranges, and reds. Just like the sakura season in spring, it makes many Japanese people feel like they have to savor the moment before it has come and gone.
In general, we highly recommend traveling to Japan in the period between early November to early December because it is much less crowded everywhere and the weather tends to be very comfortable. From 2023, we will offer travelers a walking tour to enjoy the autumn leaves in Tokyo. You will visit the very colorful Hibiya Park, the golden avenue of Gaienmae, and the gorgeous Japanese landscape garden Koishikawa Korakuen.

Morning 10 am: you will be met by your English-speaking guide at our office in Tokyo and take the metro to your first destination. You will visit the following spots:

The tour disbands near Meiji Jingu Gaien.
