It is a good destination in the summer because of the lower temperatures, and in the winter there is a lot of snow. Tourists mainly come to Aomori for the natural wonders such as the snow walls, Lake Towada, and the Oirase Gorge.
If you come to Japan in the summer, you may want to head to Aomori for the awesome Nebuta Matsuri festival that features a long parade of illuminated floats. The colorful parade is a feast for the eyes and the atmosphere is always good.
